![]() Guards are not killable, but you can lead the chase to an outlaws refuge and enter into safety, or lose them in the streets. If they spot you, however, they will not confront you with peaceful intentions. > If you are a fugitive of the law, guards will have an even higher probability to spot you. Who would want to be affiliated with a criminal, after all? If spotted, they will behave exactly as they do with disreputable players. > If you are notorious, the guards will be more likely to notice your actions. Running will instantly set your status to Fugitive. > If you are disreputable, the guards will only confront you if you are blatantly spotted by them, and will offer up two options: Pay your bounty and hand over all stolen items, or run. There are three tiers of notoriety with crime: Disreputable, Notorious, and Fugitive. Inside each Refuge is a Merchant for Clean (Non-stolen loot), a Guild Merchant, a Banker with access to ONLY your bank (No guild-related access), and "Fences." Fences can be used to sell your stolen loot, clean your stolen loot (Make it yours to keep), or clear your bounty. Each refuge has two entrances one inside the city, and one near the city walls. On your Map/Minimap, The icon looks like a Chicken's foot. They are only found in the main city of each zone. Loot can be sold and sanitized at what is known as an Outlaws Refuge. It should take 15 seconds on average to open one. They are usually in plain sight, so I suggest using Invisibility potions to cloak yourself while opening them. > Lockboxes are rare containers you may find in/near merchant's shops or in NPC's homes. Inside homes, there are containers, NPCs to pickpocket and occasionally, a lockbox. If you are spotted by an NPC, they will get pissed and tell you to leave, but do nothing more. Inside the home, there maybe be no NPCs, or there may be multiple. > Breaking and Entering: Some households now have locked doors that you can pick the locks on, exactly the same as chests and lockboxes. ![]() It is also illegal, so do not be spotted. >Items on Display: Similar to containers items on display (Soul gems, Weapons Armour, etc) may be taken. So you must be hidden, otherwise an NPC may attack or call you out. You can still do that, but now it is illegal. > Stealing from Containers: Most of you from before Tamriel Unlimited are aware of searching containers in search on ingredients and Motifs. ![]() It's not really the most ideal method of crime if money is what you're after. Or you can kill them on the spot, which will greatly increase your bounty. If you want to murder someone while increasing your bounty by the smallest increment, just pickpocket an NPC until they attack you, then lead them into an isolated area with no bystanders and kill them. > Murder and Looting: A pretty straightforward method which can yield the highest bounty if done in public. If you are caught, the NPC will either call you out or attack you. And remember to always be hidden while pickpocketing. There is a low percentage and a high percentage (indicated by a DING and a green number), which will be constantly changing, so I suggest waiting for the High percentage chance. While sneaking behind an NPC, you will see a percentage indicating the chance of success. > Pickpocketing can be done by sneaking (Default ) behind a target and interacting with environment (Default ). You can go about stealing in a multitude of ways pickpocketing, murder then looting the body, stealing from containers, stealing items on display, breaking into homes and stealing from various store's lockboxes (AKA cash register). Most of this is common knowledge, but it couldn't hurt to give out a reminder. I've noticed some of you have had some issues with succeeding in the Legerdemain domain, so I figured I'd give out some tips and tricks on what I've been doing in my system. ![]()
